Curtailing the Activities of the Centralverein Curtailing the Activities of the Centralverein (Central Association of Jews in Germany) -- Letter of SD II 112 Source: Yad Vashem Archive O.51/OSO/36 Recently, enhanced activity by the Jewish Centralverein (CV) in support of assimilation has been observed. They are attempting to maintain the Jews' position in Germany, and hope to defend the economic rights of their members in Germany through the creation of legal and economic counselling agencies. In their board meetings and counselling, they discuss problems regarding those rights that Jews in Germany still enjoy. The participants are urged to keep hammering on the subject of still existing rights. The different regional branches have established counselling services for various areas of life. This brings about an expansion in the activity of the Centralverein . Support and counselling for emigrants is minor compared to the other activities. One might conclude that the Centralverein is engaged in promoting the Jews' remaining in Germany. If comprehensive action is to be taken against the Centralverein , material has to be gathered about various areas of their activity. It is therefore requested that the activities of the local branches of the Centralverein be followed more closely, and that the findings be reported…. Special attention should be given to the counselling services.
